You're right: Bonjour, Monsieur Shlomi is a wonderful movie. The boy's family, his girl, all the characters seem rich and real. And the attitude toward teen-age sexuality struck me as a very healthy one -- and one that I wish we could see more of in this country. But I suspect with all the fundamentalist thinking going on around town (and country) that we won't being seeing an attitude change anytime soon....

Hey there. I disagree on Marley and Me -- found it surprisingly enjoyable and were literally sobbing at the end. Not so much for the death but the for the sense of everyone's mortality of which events (and movies) like this remind us -- and also of the continuum of life, the reminder of which helps cushion the "mortality" blow.

But I AM LEGEND did indeed suck. The only stupider film of late has been Mr. Smith's nitwit SEVEN POUNDS, which manages to bore and befuddle. If you are unlucky enough to watch that one, trust me, you'll want to order (and then put to work) your own jellyfish.
